🎨 Bringing Bible lessons to life for kids:
The Story Behind Color Creation!

Children’s ministry is a wild, wonderful, ever-evolving adventure. And let’s be real—finding creative, faith-filled ways to keep kids engaged while they learn can sometimes feel like herding cats. But what if there was a way to make it all easier, more engaging, and a whole lot more fun?

Introducing Color Creation — a game-changing web app that brings biblical lessons to life through AI-generated coloring pages.

🌄 From Small Town Struggles to Big Inspiration

The spark for Color Creation didn’t come from some shiny tech lab. Nope — it started at my church in a small mountain town, where we were low on volunteers and wrestling with how to keep Sunday School going. Our solution? The Kidz Zone—a little table and chairs tucked into the corner of the sanctuary where kids could color during the sermon (within hearing distance, of course).

Enter: Chris Kehayias (my boss and VP of Innovation). We were in a meeting discussing AI's usages, when he mentioned that Chat GPT had just released its new image generation model. My brain sparked. And I asked, "Wouldn't it be cool if AI could make coloring pages that match the topic of the sermon being preached?"

Chris replied, "Stand by."

He entered a prompt.

And suddenly we were looking at our first AI generated coloring page.

My jaw hit the floor. Chris started cracking up. And we both realized that we had something here.

What followed was a whirlwind.

Our team had initially planned a more "traditional and boring" project for the Gloo hackathon, an event focused on using AI to promote human flourishing within the church. But Chris was struggling with the desire to create something "whimsical and fun and different". And now we had it – coloring sheets!

We dumped the boring and dove head-first into this new project. In just a few days, Color Creation was born.

✨ So What Is Color Creation?

It’s a super simple web tool that lets churches and ministry leaders create AI-generated, copyright-free coloring pages tied to biblical themes. Think: a digital art assistant that listens to your Bible lesson plans and spits out engaging line art for kids.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Custom Content: Match coloring pages to your sermon series, lesson plans, or even a single Bible verse. Want a picture of “Jesus healing the blind man”? You got it.

  • Easy to Use: Not techy? No problem. Just type in a verse or story, and the tool takes care of the rest.

  • Community Library: Every page (unless you hide it) is added to a growing library. That means you can search and download other people’s artwork, too!

  • Built for Learning: Coloring isn’t just fun—it helps kids remember what they learn. (Science says so.)

  • Totally Free: No copyrights to purchase or worry about. Use the pages for Sunday School, your website, mission trips—you name it.

🤖 When AI Gets a Little... Weird

Now, as magical as AI is, it can get a bit quirky. These glitches are called hallucinations (and honestly, we think they’re part of the charm 🤓).

Some of our faves:

  • Mary… with a beard 👀

  • Baby Jesus… in a manger next to a bunny 🐰

  • Six-fingered hands, mysterious extra eyeballs… you get the idea.

Also, text is a weak spot. If you want specific words, you're better off adding them later using a design tool like Canva.

Chris sums it up perfectly: “The AI you use today is the worst AI you will ever use.” Translation? It’s only going to get better. Start creating now and build on it as the tech improves.

💛 Spreading the Joy: From One Church to Many
